THE ASTORIA MASQUERADE BALL WAS WONDERFUL!!!
Today we had our very first event at our new location and we had lots of fun! I want to thank everyone who showed up to our masquerade ball! I saw some beautiful gowns and masks. All the fellas were looking sharp as well. I especially want to thank my fellow co-owners who showed up and supported the event. I want to thank DJ Hit em N the Jaw, who not only provided us with great music but some of his err hmm vocals. Haha. Special thanks to his family for coming out and especially Rain for helping set up the date and advertising the event also. But a very very special thanks goes to Zane Pooley who did some wonderful hosting. I plan to put up some of the pictures real soon so watch for them coming soon.
Today's event will be the first of many things to come out of the Astoria. Along with a new building and new land comes a new attitude with fresh ideas. Most importantly this new attitude brings a spirit of cooperation and unity. All of us working together to make this city one complete city. A place where people love to live, party, shop and simply hang out. Kris and I will keep everyone posted on new events as they become available.

A DAY OF SILENCE FOR OUR FRIEND CEEMUZIK
Today we recieved some terrible news here at The Astoria. Our good friend and event planner Ceemuzik Monday aka Oracle passed away a few hours ago. Our condolences go out to his family at this time.
How do you begin... what to say. How do you thank someone like Ceemuzik. He was a wonderful person, a good friend, a master DJ/producer and loved dearly by all who encountered him. There are few like him. He gave of himself many times going out of his way to help a person if they needed it. I myself being one of them. Always there to give encouragement for our vision, advice, his time and his expertise.
He was honest, direct, to the point but kind and very helpful. Just a good person. As I stand here in front of the DJ booth at The Astoria all is very quiet. There is no house music..no records spinning...no familiar voice to welcome all to The Astoria... only a void where the Master DJ used to be. He is gone but definately not forgotten. Cee you will be dearly missed....

IT'S A BUSY DAY AT THE ASTORIA!!!
Today The Astoria is buzzing with activity and we couldn't be happier! The Astoria is available for all sorts of events. We have a beautiful fashion runway center. a lounge, a fabulous ballroom with grand stage, an outdoor pool and cabana area as well as a beautiful boardwalk/waterfront overlooking the water. We also have many DJs who play a variety of music genres and can make your next event a wonderful success. THE ASTORIA GRAND RE-OPENING WAS A HIT!!!!
Where do I begin?! This party was jumping thanks to the efforts of Ceemuzik and Serenity Groove Radio. It was awesome. I want to thank each and everyone of you who came out to show support and show The Astoria some love! A super special thank you to Ceemuzik and DJ Clyde, Noreen, Melissa and Fifi for making sure everything went well. This opening is just the beginning of many many hot and exciting things to come out of the Astoria! We strive to bring you the best in entertainment, shopping and fine living! THE ASTORIA WHO WORE IT BEST CONTEST!!
Here at the Astoria we LOVE LOVE LOVE contests! We see it as a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community which gives us soo much support. I personally love it when I win something, it just brightens up my whole day. The other thing I love doing is SHOPPING! (along with the millions of other women here in SL.)You all know who you are! : -) So in honor of shopping and contests we decided to hold the following contest : The Astoria's Who Wore it Best Contest!!!
You may ask yourself, " Pani? what are you talking about? It's quite obvious who wears it best... I do! Can nobody accessorize and throw together an outfit like I can!" Ok ladies we hear ya! So now we are giving you the chance to prove it!
Here is what you have to do.: Purchase an outfit from either Vidal, SandyFarellaFalls or Red Light District Designs located in the Astoria Lobby only. The item must be purchased at one of the Astoria Lobby stores in order to qualify for prize. Take a picture of yourself wearing the outfit complete with accessories, hair etc. Submit it to me Paniagua Rubble and I will post it on this blog. You must be following the Astoria blog in order to have your picture posted.
Get your friends to come on and comment and vote on your pic if you like (hey it can't hurt and might influence our decision haha). Every single week Kris Zufreur and I will look over the pictures and choose a winner. The winner will win a gift certificate for one of the following Vidal, SandyFarellaFalls or Red Light District designs! (your choice) Then at the end of the month we will choose one of the 4 weekly winners and that person will win 500 lindens! So there are two. count em TWO chances to win something!! I told you I liked contest : -)

THE NEW ASTORIA
Ok, so I know I have been gone in like forever but I have been rather busy through out the holidays with real life and all. But now I am back and first I want to wish everyone a very happy new year to all of you and yours! With this new year the key word is NEW. New land, New building, New business partner, New look, New business model.. just plain NEW. Indeed many new and exciting things have and are happening at the Astoria and we are looking forward to sharing all of this with all of you.
First things first. New land! We have moved from our previous location to a more centralized area in the city right across from BeReal and the new fabulous Empire State Building. With this new land comes a new bigger and more spacious Astoria which will have many amenities. The new Astoria will boast new stores like K-code, a fabulous grand lobby, a Ballroom, a lounge, new large luxurious apartments and huge penthouses with private pools and a fashion runway right on the roof!
Second, I have a new business partner! His name is Kris Zufreur and he is bringing all sorts of new ideas and new life into The Astoria and what it stands for. He will be posting on this blog from time to time informing of events and opportunities! So if you see him in the hotel and around the city say hello. We plan for The New Astoria to be a place that will support many venues of all kinds. We want it to be a place where people will want to live, shop, explore, lounge and party. We want to add to the atmosphere of sophistication, excitement and good living that New York City provides. With our new spacious land, our new hotel, new blood and new vision for this hotel we will provide many memorable expeiences for all our residents and visitors who come here.
There are many exciting things coming ahead so stay tuned!
